Director Intensive Workshop By popular demand! Whether you are an experienced or novice director, award winning Actor & Director, Dorinda Toner, wants to help you get the most out of your directorial experience. Learn how to glean the most from your script, your cast, and your overall production. Script analysis, processes & project management, casting, blocking, problem solving in the room, building space for discovery, exercises to induce growth, boundaries and expectations, personal style, co-creation and more will all be discussed. Directors will not only learn theory they will have an opportunity to workshop ideas and interact with actors and learn from other directors in the room.

Dorinda Toner has been the Producing Artistic Director of Twilight Theater Company in Portland, OR since May 2016. She has performed on stages across North America for over 37 years. An award winning director, she studied Theater/Directing at University in her home country of Canada, where she is also a multi album recording artist. Dorinda is a past Vice President and current Executive Committee member of PATA (Portland Area Theatre Alliance). She is the facilitator of the West Coast Community Theatre Management Conference, a contributor to AACT's Spotlight Magazine and most recently has been elected to the national board of directors for The American Association of Community Theatre.
This fun, supportive, mixed-level acting class has been ongoing and growing for 12 years. Each class series, participants are guided through a variety of warm-ups, ensemble acting games, discussions, and specific exercises for actors developed by Sanford Meisner. The Meisner technique first builds connection through attentive observations, repetition, listening, and allowing for moment-to-moment authentic responses.
